About A-LUMINATE Brightening Serum

The Alastin A-LUMINATE Brightening Serum is a medical-grade brightening treatment developed to address multiple pathways through which unwanted pigmentation forms in the skin. Rather than targeting a single mechanism, A-LUMINATE takes a multifaceted approach — working to reduce the appearance of existing discoloration while also helping to minimise its recurrence with continued use.

The formula is built around Alastin's proprietary PATH-3 Technology®, which addresses the melanogenesis process at several points. This means the serum works not only to fade visible pigmentation, but also to interrupt the cycle that causes it to return — a meaningful distinction from many conventional brightening products.

Formulated without hydroquinone or retinol, A-LUMINATE is designed for long-term daily use without the irritation or sensitivity commonly associated with stronger depigmentation agents. This makes it suitable for a wide range of skin tones and skin types, including those with reactive or sensitive skin.

Clinically, the serum has been studied for its effect on hyperpigmentation, sun-related damage, uneven skin tone, melasma, age spots, and the redness that often accompanies pigmentation concerns. It is also suitable for use as part of a post-procedure skincare routine, where maintaining results and preventing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is a priority.

At Epios Cosmetic Clinic, we recommend A-LUMINATE as a standalone brightening treatment and as a complement to in-clinic procedures including laser treatments, chemical peels, and microneedling — where supporting skin clarity between sessions is part of the overall treatment plan.

Individual results vary. If you are unsure whether this product is appropriate for your skin, we welcome you to book a skincare consultation with one of our doctors.

Key Ingredients

  • Tranexamic acid - A synthetic amino acid used in skincare for its ability to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and support a more even skin tone. Well tolerated by most skin types.
  • Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) - A well-researched multi-functional ingredient that supports skin barrier function, helps improve the appearance of uneven tone, and has anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Encapsulated peptides (Hexapeptide-11 and Hexapeptide-12) - Liposome-encapsulated peptides that support the skin's natural processes for managing excess melanin production — working at a cellular level to address pigmentation at its source.
  • Lactoferrin (encapsulated in liposome) - Helps protect against post-inflammatory pigmentation — particularly relevant for use after cosmetic procedures or in skin prone to reactive pigmentation.

Free from: hydroquinone, retinol, fragrance, parabens, sulphates, harsh alcohols.

How to Use

Apply 1–2 pumps to the face morning and evening after cleansing. Allow the serum to absorb before applying moisturiser.

In the morning, follow with a broad-spectrum SPF — daily sun protection is essential when using any brightening product, as UV exposure is a primary driver of pigmentation. Avoid contact with the eyes.

A-LUMINATE is designed for consistent, long-term use. Visible improvement in skin tone and pigmentation typically develops gradually with continued application. Individual results and timeframes vary.

Who This Product Is Suitable For

A-LUMINATE is formulated for adults concerned with:

— Hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone
— Sun spots or age spots
— Melasma
— Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) — including marks left after acne or cosmetic procedures
— Redness accompanying pigmentation concerns
— General skin dullness or lack of luminosity

Because it is free from hydroquinone and retinol, A-LUMINATE is appropriate for sensitive skin types and for those who require a gentler approach to brightening — including during pregnancy (consult your medical practitioner).

It is also well suited to use as part of a post-procedure maintenance routine following laser treatments, chemical peels, or microneedling at Epios.

If you are unsure whether this product is appropriate for your skin type or concerns, a skincare consultation with one of our doctors is available at Epios Cosmetic Clinic, Paddington.
