Consultation for Facial Contouring & Volumisation
A thorough medical consultation to assess your concerns and discuss whether treatment may be clinically appropriate for you. All assessments conducted by MBBS-qualified (or equivalent) doctors. Individual suitability discussed at consultation.
Overview
Facial contouring and volumisation is a medical aesthetic treatment area. At Epios, every patient is assessed individually by an MBBS-qualified doctor before any treatment is discussed or recommended — and no procedure proceeds without informed consent.
About This Consultation
Facial contouring and volumisation encompasses a range of medical aesthetic treatments used to address concerns related to facial structure and volume. These are classified as higher-risk non-surgical cosmetic procedures in Australia and are subject to regulatory guidelines set by AHPRA.
At Epios, we offer consultations with our MBBS-qualified cosmetic doctors to assess your individual concerns and discuss whether any treatment may be clinically appropriate for you. The consultation is a medical appointment — not a sales process. Your doctor will take a thorough history, examine the areas of concern, and have an honest conversation about your options, including realistic expectations and risks.
If treatment is not clinically indicated, or if you are not a suitable candidate, your doctor will tell you so. We do not recommend treatments without clinical justification. Consultation fees apply.
When to Consider a Consultation
If you have concerns about changes in your facial appearance related to the natural ageing process and would like a clinical opinion on the options available to you, a consultation at Epios is an appropriate first step.
A consultation does not commit you to any treatment. It is an opportunity to speak with a qualified medical doctor, understand your clinical options, and make an informed decision in your own time. There is no obligation to proceed. Consultation fees apply.
Treatment options, clinical suitability, realistic outcomes, and risks are all discussed individually at consultation — not generalised on this page, as they vary significantly between patients and presentations.
What Happens at Your Consultation
Your consultation is a standalone medical appointment. Treatment may be performed on the day if suitable. Here is what to expect:
01
Medical history — your doctor takes a detailed history including current medications, supplements, allergies, previous treatments, and general health.
02
Clinical assessment — your areas of concern are examined. Your doctor assesses your individual anatomy, skin quality, and presentation.
03
Discussion of options — if any treatment is clinically appropriate, your doctor will explain the options, the clinical process involved, and realistic outcomes for your specific case.
04
Risks and alternatives — all risks are explained in full, including the option of no treatment. Written information is provided.
05
No obligation — you can leave with information to consider. If you choose to proceed, treatment may be done in the same appointment, or a separate treatment appointment can be scheduled. There is no pressure to decide on the day. Consultation fees apply.

Honest Advice
If treatment is not clinically indicated or you are not a suitable candidate, your doctor will advise accordingly.
Informed Consent
No procedure proceeds without full informed consent. Risks, the clinical process, and alternatives are discussed before any decision is made.
A Doctor-Only Practice
Epios is a doctor-only practice. Every treatment in this category is performed by a fully qualified medical doctor holding an MBBS qualification or international equivalent — not a nurse, therapist, or cosmetic technician.
Our medical training informs how we assess, plan, and manage every patient — including the recognition and management of complications if they arise. This standard is not universal across the cosmetic industry.
At Epios, ultrasound-guided techniques are available for certain treatments in this category. This allows the treating doctor to visualise underlying anatomical structures during the procedure — a safety measure not widely available at cosmetic clinics in Sydney.
Suitability for ultrasound-guided approaches is assessed individually at consultation. Not all patients or treatment areas require it.
